In 1997, TUANS HÜTTE opened at the corner of Dircksenstraße and Rochstraße. Alongside Thai dishes of the same quality as the flagship, excellent sushi was also served. A Thai sushi chef who had learned his craft in the "Little Tokyo" district of Bangkok, and had accompanied his employer to Japan as well, prepared it to the highest standard. The combination of high-quality Thai cuisine and a proper sushi bar was new to Berlin at the time. The concept quickly found imitators and is today a common feature in many places.
